What You’ll do


As a DC General Manager you will be overseeing all operations of the Mattoon, IL, Distribution Center (DC) including the safety, culture, and productivity of associates. The General Manager develops strategies and objectives to maximize productivity and leverage expenses for Rural King and ensures overall success of the DC.

 

  • Drive a culture of safety throughout Rural King’s distribution and warehouses by ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations and company safety policies.
  • Provide leadership and direction for all aspects of the distribution
  • Oversee all aspects of the DC’s financial, operational, people, process, and service-related objectives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in strategic and business process improvement projects for the distribution
  • Ownership to ensure all store and customer needs are met, service is managed to established key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Validate inventory
  • Oversee workforce schedule and headcount to ensure optimal productivity, accuracy, and on-time
  • Ensure warehouse layout is optimally aligned for maximum
  • Coordinate proper maintenance of equipment and
  • Create a supportive and empowering work environment for your team.
  • Lead associates in a way that exemplifies the leadership principles taught in Rural King’s Thrive Leadership Program.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

  • At least 5 years of distribution center management experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn Oracle Systems.

The pay range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
