The Director of RK Recycling, LLC plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s direction, while providing oversight and assisting with the development of the recycling program.  The company will oversee recycling of pallets, cardboard and plastic, with a goal to maximize the use of resources and profitability.

 

 JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Establish and implement efficient operational processes for sourcing, inventory management, and order fulfillment across pallets, plastics, and cardboard product lines.
  • Conduct a review of current internal operations and external market research to identify opportunities, trends, and potential partnerships with vendors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Rural King, suppliers, manufacturers, and industry partners.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for pallets, plastics, and cardboard products.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and make strategic adjustments as needed.
  • Oversee the safe loading and unloading recycling materials, using forklifts, pallet jacks and various other hand tools to and from trailers per the standard operating procedures.
  • Prepares bills, statements and receipts related to all recycling services such as shipping records, in-bound receipts, and bill of ladings.
  • Manages the coordination of shipments of recyclable materials with RK Transportation, processing companies, or brokers.
  • Supervises schedules ensuring the optimization of service, quality, and efficiency.
  • Inspects work areas to ensure the premises meet safety, quality, and service standards.
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Supervises RK Recycling Associates

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or a related field. MBA a plus.
  • Proven experience in business development, logistics, sales, or management, preferably within the packaging materials industry.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, partnership skills, and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of successfully building and growing businesses.
  • Experience in preparing data sets, statistical reports and computer applications to support financial analysis work.
  • Ability to generate and speak to financial reporting to management.
  • Experience on project teams and managing a segment of the project work.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and financial reports.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Good visual acuity including close vision for computer work.
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, bend, carry, and push.
  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements.
  • May work under stressful circumstances at times.

The pay range for this position is $87,000 - $120,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
