What You’ll Do


As a Risk Management Analyst, you will optimize resources and protect assets through the identification of business risks and apply innovative approaches, cost effective tools, and high quality service to eliminate, mitigate, or transfer these exposures. This position safeguards Rural King, its customers, associates, reputation, assets, and the interests of management by identifying and managing threats to the achievement of the business objectives.

 

  • Assist supervisor with the identification, evaluation, monitoring, reduction, and elimination of professional and general liablflty risk exposures.
  • Develop safety programs, SOP's, and training to provide a safe environment for associates, customers, and visitors.
  • Review loss and injury reports to detect trends and recommend programs to management for reducing future claims.
  • Assist supervisor with managing the corporate insurance programs, Including annual negotiations, compilation of underwriting Information and coverage placement, claims administration, loss forecasting, and analysis to assist in loss reduction.
    • Manage the relationships with service providers including brokers, insurers, and TPA's.
    • Participate in premium and coverage negotiations, coordinating insurance programs for all lines of coverage including property, casualty, and workers compensation (WC).
    • Evaluate adequacy of retention, limits, and coverage terms and conditions.
    • Identify, measure, and manage Insurable and hazard risks.
    • Maintain exposure data and values.
    • Review Captive Insurance Policies to ensure coverage is in place where gaps may exist in commercial
  • Assist supervisor with managing general liability claims and loss control activities including strategy, proof of loss preparation, negotiation, and communication expectations to financial planning.
    • Responsible for interacting with associates, customers, and insurance carriers regarding claims.
    • Clearly document all activities on claims, reserve changes, closing, and lawsuits.
    • Obtain necessary information required to expedite the claims process.
    • Mitigate the exposure to risk by formulating, developing, and coordinating all claims-related activities, as well as resolving bona fide claims at the least possible cost through various risk transfer techniques.
    • Fairly and adequately assess chargebacks for losses.
    • Responsible for post loss reduction techniques such as salvage, subrogation, and rehabilitation.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Essential Qualities for Success

 

  • At least 1 year of safety, risk is a plus, and/or policy experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Experience and proficiency creating and implementing company safety programs preferred.
  • Experience and proficiency working in a self-insurance environment preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of retail business practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
  • Capability to lift 15 pounds periodically.

  • Close vision for computer-related activities.

 

The pay range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
