What You’ll do

As a Senior Manager of Service & Repair you will be responsible for managing equipment servicing operations at all Rural King locations. You will drive the implementation of a comprehensive vision and roadmap to establish RK as a reliable and profitable provider of equipment maintenance and repair services. This involves creating a strategic plan and budget to transition RK into offering robust product servicing capabilities.

  • Strategic Plan Execution: Lead the implementation of the strategic plan in collaboration with RK's cross-functional leadership team. Product categories include, but are not limited to, tractors, tractor attachments and implements, mowers, log splitters, chainsaws, snow blowers, generators, ATVs/UTVs, and all related accessories and parts.
  • Capability Management: Manage servicing capabilities for current and future product offerings by evaluating staffing, skillsets, tools, facilities, processes, systems, metrics, customer satisfaction, and the financial performance of baseline servicing operations.
  • Budget and Performance: Prepare and submit annual budgets, ensuring that financial and performance objectives are consistently achieved or exceeded.
  • Training Development: Partner with the training team and equipment product suppliers to create and deliver a comprehensive equipment servicing curriculum. This program will help store-level service technicians become proficient in maintaining and repairing supported products, with opportunities to earn OEM repair certifications.
  • Organizational Structure: Collaborate with store operations and HR leadership to design a product servicing organizational structure and compensation plan that aligns with RK's business goals and rewards strong performance.
  • Extended Warranty Program: Work with the Director of Sales & Service and the merchandising team to develop and launch an extended warranty program that boosts incremental sales growth and profitability, establishing RK as the preferred warranty provider for its equipment products.
  • Facilities Development: Coordinate with RK facilities management to define and implement the necessary facilities and equipment requirements for each store. Develop a tiered servicing capability model based on store location, proximity to other stores, and distribution centers.
  • Marketing Strategy: Collaborate with the RK marketing team to design and execute an effective marketing plan to promote RK's servicing capabilities using multiple channels.
  • Technology Systems: Work with the VP of Technology to identify and develop system requirements that support the desired servicing capabilities.
  • High-Visibility Initiatives: Drive and contribute to high-profile projects, showcasing expertise and leadership to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership Development: Exemplify the leadership principles outlined in Rural King’s Thrive Leadership Program, setting a standard for team performance and professional growth.
  • Decision-Making & Professionalism: Exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and uphold professionalism in daily decisions and interactions.
  • Continuous Learning: Actively participate in training programs, workshops, and webinars to acquire new knowledge and refine skills, staying updated on industry trends and best practices.
  • Customer Support: Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries, concerns, and issues effectively.
  • Value-Driven Behavior: Demonstrate Rural King’s core values—People First, Integrity, Attitude, Initiative, Teamwork, Accountability, and Continuous Improvement—in all actions and decisions.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the team’s success.
