What You’ll do

As a Manager, Space Planning (Farm Products) you will be leading a team, and will be responsible for all merchandise presentation aspects of the area including planograms, floorplans, signage requirements, fixtures, and implementation scheduling. Establishing strong partnerships with Buyers, their Suppliers, Store Operations, Marketing, and other stakeholders, the Manager ensures that the development of planograms and other content are aligned with company, department, and category strategies.  They establish core processes and metrics, develop Rural King’s store environment intellectual property, develop their team, promote best practices, and ensure a superior shopping experience while accommodating the needs of assortment breadth, inventory, and space productivity.

  • Lead the Farm Products approach to space management in terms of planograms, floor plans, signage requirements, and promotional displays.
  • Develop a small team of Space Planners in building a balanced approach to merchandising, ensuring strong collaboration with stakeholders, synthesis of strategy, and the promotion of sound space management practices.
  • Help develop and evolve the Space department’s core processes, knowledge base, systems, and practices to create more effective and efficient outcomes.
  • Drive systems upgrades and integration with the broader organization.
  • Lead teams in competitive visits and research in the promotion of a learning culture.
  • Ensure implementation at stores is flawless: accurate planograms executed on time, on budget with maximum new product availability.
  • Develop and present business cases for category and department expansions, resets, and renewals.
  • Lead associates in a way that exemplifies the leadership principles taught in Rural King’s Thrive Leadership Program.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Essential Qualities for Success

 

  • At least 7 years of experience with retail and 5 years of expereince in space management, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Extensive Blue Yonder \ JDA category management suite experience, including upgrades.
  • Hardgoods \ farm products \ rural lifestyle experience.
  • Experience leading and developing teams of varying backgrounds.
  • Proven analytical and presentation skills.

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
  • Capability to lift 15 pounds periodically.
  • Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
  • Skill to effectively communicate verbally with others, both in-person and via electronic devices.
  • Close vision for computer-related activities.

The pay range for this position is $58,000 - $73,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
