What You’ll do


As an International Trade Analyst, you will be overseeing and directing the shipment of international products, through establishing logistics networks and solutions that provide inbound transportation at optimal service levels and cost.

  

  • Coordinate and oversee ocean import services for international goods.
  • Manage the negotiation of rates and yearly contracts with international freight partners, ensuring rates stay competitive with the market.
  • Measure logistics partner performance against developed KPIs.
  • Regularly perform logistics analysis to determine cost efficient routing and lowest cost carriers, utilizing carrier capacity, rates, and performance history.
  • Communicate inbound flow of containers to internal and external partners, drawing attention to any potential challenges.
  • Ensure internal container management system is kept current by timely entering negotiated rates, transit times and accuracy of milestone updates.
  • Administer and maintain an import trade compliance program, partnering with Rural King’s customs broker.
  • Perform various analysis such as cost of goods comparison (prepaid vs collect and domestic vs international program options), network optimization reports, etc.
  • Use discretion and independent judgement in daily decisions.
  • Communicate market conditions, including market rates, delays, impactful events, and new opportunities to internal partners.
  • Work with partners (internal and external) to coordinate solutions for transportation and logistics operational issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key railroad providers and transload facilities.
  • Implement process improvements that promote freight cost reductions and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Research and approve international freight invoice discrepancies or issues in receiving.
  • Lead associates in a way that exemplifies the leadership principles taught in Rural King’s Thrive Leadership Program.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Essential Qualities for Success

 

  • At least 3-5 years of international logistics experience OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Project management skills necessary to lead projects and drive them to completion effective and timely.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow through of own work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated behaviors must reflect integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
  • Capability to lift 15 pounds periodically.
  • Ability to navigate and access all facilities.
  • Skill to effectively communicate verbally with others, both in-person and via electronic devices.
  • Close vision for computer-related activities.

The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $58,570 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
