What You’ll do

As the Firearms Compliance Coordinator you will ensure all Rural King locations follow federal, state, and local firearm regulations. This role oversees the safe and legal transfer of firearms, serves as the main compliance contact, and conducts audits to maintain adherence to laws and company policies.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for all store compliance questions related to firearm sales and transfers.
  • Respond to requests from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Tracing Center.
  • Field calls from local and state authorities regarding firearm transfers and compliance issues.
  • Maintain and update the "Do Not Sell" lists for all Rural King locations.
  • Manage ATF Bound Book logins and accounts for each store location.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries regarding firearm compliance and transfer processes.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on weekly, monthly, and ATF firearm audits.
  • Prepare and renew Federal Firearms Licenses (FFL) for all Rural King locations as required.
  • Maintain an updated list of Responsible Persons for each location and submit updates to the ATF when changes occur.
  • Conduct in-depth firearm compliance audits through store visits and ensure adherence to all regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to stay informed of changes in firearm compliance laws and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

Essential Qualities for Success

  • At least 1 year of firearms compliance experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • ATF Compliance experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.

 Physical Requirements  

  • Ability to maintain a seated or standing position for extended durations.
  • Capability to lift 15 pounds periodically.
  • Able to navigate and access all facilities.
  • Skill to effectively communicate verbally with others, both in-person and via electronic devices.
  • Close vision for computer-related tasks.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also receive overtime pay in compliance with applicable laws.
